The German Federal Ministry of Health (Bundesministeriums für Gesundheit, BMG) launched in July 2023 the initiative Long COVID: Comprehensive support for those affected.
The comprehensive Long COVID programme is intended to support those who suffer particularly from the long-term consequences of an infection with the coronavirus. For this purpose, the BMG has launched a website (www.bmg-longcovid.de) offering help, information on the current state of research and answers to the most important questions about Long COVID. The website is available in German, English, Turkish and Russian. In addition, a new service number for those affected will be set up at the citizens‘ hotline.
Furthermore, the BMG is setting up a health care research programme, with which model projects in particular will be promoted and evaluated. Finally, the Ministry is planning a round table for affected persons and experts in autumn 2023.
