Studying temporal titre evolution of commercial SARS-CoV-2 assays reveals significant shortcomings of using BAU standardization for comparison

A new ORCHESTRA study has recently been published in the Virology Journal. Authors measured immune responses in those infected, vaccinated, or experiencing breakthrough cases in two cohorts: a first cohort of ninety-nine SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR positive subjects and a second one with forty-five vaccinees without previous infection but with two vaccinations. Anti-spike antibodies were tracked for 18 months post-infection, showing varied levels in convalescent individuals but consistent results in vaccine recipients without prior infection.
