New Orchestra project publication: How European research projects can support vaccination strategies

Within the H2020 ORCHESTRA project, four studies have been formulated with different cohorts from a total of 18 countries worldwide, comprising of more than 600,000 individuals. These studies research “aspects of the SARS-CoV-2 infection specific to the population analysed, such as incidence of infection and identification of specific risk factors.” It also investigates the effect of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination including but not limited to the type and timing of vaccines, and impact of viral variants on effectiveness.

A new publication has recently been published in the Vaccines journal describing the early results of the ORCHESTRA project, highlighting the benefits of “multiple, international, historical and prospective cohort studies” and specific results related to vaccination strategies.
